Cultural weekend in the Opera House

On February 17, on the stage of the Big Hall will be the ballet "Romeo and Juliet" which based on the novel of William Shakespeare. It is necessary to say that from the first days in the theatre's repertoire this performance became the one of the most beloved by the Astrakhan audience because of the purity and lightness of Prokofiev's music. At the heart of Romeo and Juliet's drama history lies  the real event – many Italian writers of the 16th century have told about it. This ballet is the history about eternal: about love, traditions, fight and death.

On Saturday and Sunday at 16:00 the Small Hall invites the audience. There will be held the comedy vaudeville "Trouble from Gentle Heart". Graff Vladimir Aleksandrovich Sollogub, the famous Russian writer, wrote only the one vaudeville but for more than 150 years, it is still on the Russian theatrical stages.

Action happens in St. Petersburg, but all characters are the natives of Tambov who have remained the same deep provincials. The farmer Zolotnikov comes to the capital to the girlfriend of his youth to marry his only son Alexander. Alexander "every day is in love", he has a gentle heart, it responds to each girl and even to several at the same time! But hearts of the girls and their mummies who dreaming to marry off their daughters instantly respond to a message about the wealth of the groom. Intricate intrigue saves only a clever move made by his father ….

In vaudeville, as expected, you will have a sparkling humor, vivid comic characters, and, of course, won't do without passionate romances …

Sunday, February 19 premiere performance of "La Traviata" returns to the stage of the Big Hall of the Astrakhan state theatre of Opera and Ballet. Not all the audience was able to appreciate the musicality, the brightness of the images and to sympathize with the main character.
