May 28 at 6 pm The performance "Carmina Burana" and the one-act ballet "Piaf. I do not regret anything."Brilliant and truly "sorcerous music" of Orff. It captures us from the first sounds with vivid imagery, subduing elements of rhythm, a mixture of soft irony and quivering lyricism, epic scope and generosity of colors. The music of Carl Orff is the main character of the performance. Both musicians and listeners fall under its hypnotic influence from the first bars. The performance "Carmina Burana" with choreographic parties and scenic action has already declared itself in the Big Hall of the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theatre. Carl Orff conceived his work as a mass theatrical performance in the style of medieval mysteries and folk performances of the ancient Bavarian theatre. The libretto was based on the collection of the 13th century Goliard and vagabond songs, found in 1803 in the Benedictine monastery of Benediktbeuern, Bavaria. The title "Carmina Burana" is Latin for "Songs from Beuern"; ("Beuern" is short for Benediktbeuern) where “Carmina” means songs and «Burana» is a geographical mane.According to the concept of Konstantin Uralsky the composition of the play is based on the idea of the Fortuna Wheel rotation. A complete turn of the Wheel covers the act of the production, symbolizing the circle of life, the beginning and the end, the turn of fate, in which there are everything: pain, joy, love, play, etc.The performance with an intriguing Latin name "Carmina Burana" is addressed to the public of all ages and views. The second part: ”Lovers' Hearts Ballet" - that is the name the ballet art experts have given to the performance “Piaf. Je ne regrette rien (I do not regret anything)”. Those our contemporaries who have visited the performance might remember (and someone probably discover for the first time) wonderful songs of Edith Piaf. Edith Piaf herself explained her phenomenal success easily. According to her, it was necessary to observe only a few conditions. Most of all, it was desirable that personal love and suffering corresponded with the image created on the stage.
