The last month of the 21st theatrical season we want to please the theater-goers with the brightest classical and modern productions from the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theatre repertoire before we leave for the summer holidays.
By good tradition, a gala concert to the closing of the theatrical season will be the culmination!
June 2 18.00 The choreographic novel "Waltz of White Orchids"
Based on the novels by Erich Maria Remarque. The scene of the ballet is pre-war Europe. Modern and classical choreography, Ravel's music and French chanson, loneliness and a holiday, pinching melancholy and unrestrained fun coexist in the performance. Choreographer Konstantin Uralsky is sure that today the discussion of eternal questions requires new forms.
June 4, 18.00 opera "Iolanta" (P.I. Tchaikovsky)
Almost 125 years have passed since the premiere of the opera "Iolanta", which took place in St. Petersburg, in December 1892, at the Mariinsky Theatre. But despite this interest for the opera has not weakened so far. This is a touching story of blind princess Iolanta, healed by love.
June 7 18.00 concert "The Flute Soul"
Laureate of the National Competition named after D.Shostakovich vocal and instrumental ensemble "CANTABILE" invites you to the concert "The Flute Soul". The musicians seek to immerse themselves in the depths of instrumental and vocal music of romantic France, of serious Germany and of hot Italy. They are going to find out the peculiarities of its existence, its possibilities within the framework of different styles. At the concert "The Flute Soul" the ensemble is going to perform the works of composers: K. Debussy, M. Ravel, I.S. Bach, G.Handel, F. Kreisler, G. Fore, K. Sen-Sans and others. You will find a lot of new, interesting and recognizable music. Naida Kerimova, violin, takes part in the concert.
June 8 11.00 musical fairy tale “The Little Glass Slipper”
A musical performance based on the fairy tale "Cinderella" by Charles Perraut. This story is familiar to everyone from childhood. The producers have used the French composer Jean-Philippe Rameau works as the basis of the Musical component. “The Little Glass Slipper” will appeal to both children and adults.
June 9, 18.00 opera "Prince Igor"
The Astrakhan production of "Prince Igor" will surprise the spectators with the scale of the action. The stage directors managed to recreate the true historical events of the 12th century, to preserve the careful attitude to the music of A. Borodin. The use of the most complicated video content throughout the entire performance of "Prince Igor" on the Big Stage is also a special feature of the production. The whole Astrakhan troupe (soloists, ballet dancers, choir, mimic ensemble) participates in the majestic and spectacular performance.
10 and 11 June 16.00 concert "From classics to jazz"
The opposition between academic and popular music is rather arbitrary. With all the stylistic, genre differences and peculiarities of the musical language in the vocal and instrumental works of the "small form", the level of mastery and talent of the author as well as the talent and skill of the performers play the main role. In this program, Viennese music will coexist with E. Garner, D. Gershwin and other authors from the other side of the ocean. One epoch works reflections highlight works of a completely different time in a new way. Meet Elena Razgulyaeva and the ensemble under Yuri Elperin performance.

The last days of the season, in anticipation of the long-awaited vacation, the artists enter the stage and perform, not caring about saving spiritual and physical strength, laying out completely. There are the best of the past year productions and creative applications for the next season in concert programs. It is no accident that spectators like performances and programs, designated as "closing the season". Even those of them who have to wait with a vacation, are ready to take advantage of someone else's happy mood to make it theirs.
The concerts involve leading soloists of opera and ballet, the choir and the symphony orchestra of the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theatre.
