The Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theater will present the World Premiere - the ballet for the whole family “The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh”. This performance is the beginning of a big project about Winnie the Pooh, which is based on stories from the books of the English writer Alan Milne. It should be noted that Winnie the Pooh and his company can often be seen on the stages of children's theaters: puppet theaters, theaters for young spectators and others are happy to embody famous stories on the stage, but there have not been any ballet versions of Alan Milne’s fairy tales yet . Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater has already invited viewers to New Year's performances with the participation of Winnie the Pooh and his friends. The audience has been waiting for the release of a large full-scale performance for over a year.
We will see our favorite fairy-tale heroes dancing on the stage of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater thanks to the coordinated work of a huge theatrical group
The music for the ballet was specially written by the composer, conductor and hereditary musician Sergey Dyagilev. In addition, he co-wrote the libretto for the play. A talented composer has been working with the Opera and Ballet Theater for many years. The ballet performance “Piaf. No regrets” and musical comedy “Trouble from the tender heart” were staged to his music in the theatre. The composer is the great-nephew of the famous Russian entrepreneur, the author of “Russian Seasons” in Paris, S.P. Dyagilev.
According to the artistic director of the ballet and the chief choreographer, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Konstantin Uralsky, the idea of creating a children's play based on the book by Alan Milne originated 10 years ago. Today, after more than 90 years since his birth, the main character Winnie the Pooh remains favorite and popular.
“I do not like the name of the children's play. First of all, it will be a family ballet for different generations where you can come with your whole family, plunge into childhood and have fun. I have two daughters to who I used to read these tales with great pleasure when they were kids. A child lives In every adult and we shouldn’t be ashamed of it. In our performance the characters will acquire their character, so we do not follow the exact content of the book, but speak on the basis of the work,”the production choreographer noted.
An important component of the success of the performance is the work of the artists of the symphony orchestra under the direction of the artistic director and chief conductor Valery Voronin. They paid great attention to the score, revealing all the richness of musical text.
There will be a cycle of fairy-tale stories, funny characters on the stage which will give real happiness to children and adults.
The performance promises to be fun, bright, musical and very kind. Original performance, unusual scenery, costumes, brilliant performance of ballet soloists and souvenirs - this is why this performance should not be missed!
We are waiting for you at the World Premiere on March 23 and 24.
