On April 28 and 29, the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theater will present the premiere: the ballet "Le Pari". It is dedicated to the genius composer and pianist Fryderyk Chopin and begins in the Parisian period of Chopin's life, when he fell in love with George Sand. The author of the idea and choreographer is the chief choreographer, People's Artist of Russia Dmitry Gudanov.
In the premiere performance "Le Pari", the works of the brilliant composer will be performed by the famous French pianist Francois Dumont. The first part will feature works by Chopin written during his years in Paris: Nocturne op. posth. in c # minor, Barcarolle op.60, Valses op.64 n.1 and 2, Ballade n.3, Nocturne op.48 n.1, Berceuse op.57, Scherzo n.3.
In the second part, the audience will see the one-act author's ballet "Le Pari" to the music of Chopin's 2nd Concerto for Piano and Orchestra.
It is noteworthy that the bright international career of the pianist François Dumont began with convincing victories of the young pianist at prestigious competitions, such as the Chopin Competition, the Queen Elizabeth Competition, and the Monte Carlo Piano Competition. He took part in the main musical event in France - the Musical Victories marathon, and also received the Discovery award from the association of French music critics.
As a soloist, François Dumont has appeared with such orchestras as the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and other renowned ensembles.
Francois Dumont is a regular participant in international festivals in Roque d'Antheron, Toulouse, Montpellier, Warsaw, Ljubljana, Washington. He is actively touring the world, recently visited Japan and China with a solo tour.
His first solo albums - All Mozart's Sonatas and Chopin's Album - were awarded the Maestro Prize by the Pianist magazine.
In Russia, the virtuoso pianist performed for the first time in 2018 and performed a concert by Maurice Ravel for the left hand.
