Today, the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater has presented a unique concert, both in terms of the content and the participants. The symphonic concert, despite the replacement of the performer, was a sell-out. The famous pianist Peter Laul was invited to perform the piano concerto by Robert Schumann. His name can be seen on the posters of the world's best concert venues – the pianist performs at the St. Petersburg State Philharmonic, the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Steinway Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Suntory Hall and Opera City Hall in Tokyo, Bruckner House in Linz and Verdi Hall in Milan.
In the second part of the concert, the last work of the German composer Richard Strauss "An Alpine Symphony" was performed. Every time "An Alpine Symphony" is performed it becomes a real event - the composition requires a huge number of musicians to participate. The Astrakhan musicians were joined by the colleagues from St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Volgograd and Rostov. The enlarged orchestra played under the baton of the chief conductor of the theater Valery Voronin. The symphony captivated the audience from the very first minutes, amazing them with new colors and fantasies. The concert was accompanied by unique video content that helped the audience to visualize the composer's ideas. "The Journey in the Mountains", which lasted 50 minutes, ended with a loud applause of the grateful audience.
The musicians showed incredible abilities, dynamics and the power of orchestral sound. The cooperation of the maestro and the orchestra musicians conveyed the mood and variety of shades of the most complex works.
The symphony orchestra of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater under the baton of Valery Voronin is peculiar because the musicians not only perform the musical score, but also express subtle, deep things that the audience can feel.
