March 29, 2024 marks 145 years since the first production of the opera Eugene Onegin, one of the prominent musical masterpieces of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
On this day, at the Tyumen Regional Philharmonic, the soloists of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater will present the audience with a concert performance of the opera Eugene Onegin. The Tyumen Philharmonic is one of the leading concert institutions of the Ural-Siberian region; it is considered the center of the city’s musical life that largely defines its cultural ethos.
The best Astrakhan soloists, who perform the main roles of Tatyana and Olga, Onegin and Lensky, the nanny, Prince Gremin, and other characters of the opera, will go on tour to the capital of gas and oil workers. The audience will hear the musical story about the people who passed by their happiness and their destiny... The concert performance of the opera will be presented by the Tyumen Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the chief conductor Yuri Medyanik and the chorus of the Tyumen Philharmonic, the artistic director, the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Albert Mishin.
The Astrakhan touring troupe includes laureates of international competitions: Andrey Shitikov, Anna Kadenkova, Alexey Mikutel, Ksenia Grigorieva, Dmitry Sharmanov, Zinaida Dyuzhova, Olga Bogush and Sergey Mankovsky. For exactly ten years, the opera Eugene Onegin has been given on the stage of the Astrakhan Theater with invariable notice! Touring in Tyumen is a joint interregional creative project of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater and the Tyumen State Philharmonic.
