Golden Mask in the Cinema

The 23rd Festival "Golden Mask" will be held in Moscow in February-March-April, 2017. Winners of the National theatrical award will be announced at a ceremony on April 19.

This year, with assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Art-Association CoolConnection, will earn again the unique project "Golden Mask in the Cinema" which will expand the audience of the theatrical festival. The project is being implemented for the third consecutive year and is becoming popular not only in Moscow and St. Petersburg but also in other cities of Russia. The audience of 60 cities of our immense country will be able to see four performances. In the program two performances nominated in several categories, and two time-tested masterpiece, the winners of "Golden Mask" of the last years.

In Astrakhan performances will be shown in live broadcast in the cinema "Ostrov Sokrovishch" (Vorobyova St.) in the mol Grand River according to the following schedule:

On February 17 at 20:00 - the ballet "ROMEO AND JULIET" of Ekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theatre;

On March 22 at 20:00 - the performance "LIFE AND DESTINY" of The Maly Drama Theatre - Theatre of Europe;

On April 2 at 20:00 - the performance "THUNDER-STORM" of Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theatre;

On April 14 (time of broadcasting will be specified) - the performance "WAR AND PEACE. THE BEGINNING OF THE NOVEL" of Moscow theatre "Pyotr Fomenko Workshop Theatre".

"Golden Mask" - the highest professional award of Russia, it is handed to performances of all genres of theatrical art: drama, opera, ballet, modern dance, operetta and musical, puppet theatre, and also their creators and performers.

Participation in a festival is the honorable mission of theatre, it speaks both about an appreciation from professional community, and about recognition of the audience. Unfortunately, not all potential audience has an opportunity to see the chief theatrical premiere and their heroes. Thanks to the project "Golden Mask in the Cinema", performances of the best theatres become available to the most wide range of the audience not only in Moscow, but also in many regions of the country.
