Barsova and Maksakova festival

Festival of vocal art named after Valeria Barsova and Maria Maksakova – one of the brightest events of musical life of our region. The festival twice a year is held already more than 25 years. The 14th International festival residents of Astrakhan had waited for 3 years and this year the ceremony will be devoted to the 300 anniversary of the Astrakhan province.

The ceremonial opening will be held on April 8 in the Astrakhan state theatre of Opera and Ballet. Within five days opera stars will present their artwork to the Astrakhan audience. The participation was confirmed by the famous soloists: Pyotr Migunov – the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, Andrey Valenty - the National Bolshoi Theatre of Republic of Belarus, Alexander Timchenko – the Mariinsky Theatre, Ekaterina Bogachyova - the Sochi Philharmonic hall, Anastasia Lepeshinskaya – Ekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theatre, etc.

Sale of tickets for international festival has already begun

Festival actions will take place in Philharmonic hall, Conservatory, and also in the districts of our region.

Within the program there will take place concerts of the academic and jazz vocal music, a performance of chamber chorus and Russian folk orchestra, a gala performance. Together with well-known soloists will perform the young talents - participants of the regional cultural project "Children's Philharmonic" and the scholars of the Charitable Foundation of M. Maksakova-Igenbergs.

At the Astrakhan state theatre of Opera and Ballet, within the international festival named after V. Barsova and M. Maksakova will be the opera "Eugene Onegin" where Pyotr Migunov will perform Gremin's part, and also he will participate in a final gala concert.
