The 23rd Festival "The Golden Mask" was launched in Moscow in February and will continue until April. The festival presents the best performances from all over Russia, which were selected from nearly a thousand applicants. There are achievements of leading directors and actors, theater artists, choreographers and singers in the program. Winners of the National Theatre Award will be nominated at the ceremony on April 19th.
Festival Experts have pointed out that this year opera program is particularly rich in the productions from country regions. According to "The Golden Mask" competition expert Alena Karas - "province gets the leading role." Seven new cultural centers have appeared in our country at the same time, they are Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Perm, Voronezh, Kostroma, Kazan, Astrakhan.
