"Mozart and Salieri" again on the Small Stage

February 25th the premiere performance  "Mozart and Salieri" returns on the Small stage of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theatre. We invite all theatre-goers to the performance, especially Astrakhan young people. In this production there is everything to please modern audience: firstly, the modern interpretation and conceptuality of the performance; secondly, young actors and directors; and finally, space of the Small stage  itself offers a new, less strict perception of the classics, here a spectator and an actor are very close to each other.

The plot of the opera, as well as Pushkin’s drama, is based on the legend about  "envious" Salieri’s poisoning of Mozart. There are two types of artists in the tragedy. Their attitude to art is quite different. For Salieri  art is a temple, in which you can not just enter and live in it, every creative minute is divine, great and solemn. Mozart, on the contrary, is a genius who does not want to look like a genius, but art is his life, this is his element, in which he feels organically, we can say he is at home with music in contrast to Salieri.

Tomorrow it will come to light if Salieri is an intriguer in the new opera. The unexpected death of the genius in the prime years of his life completes the line of it with endless ellipsis ... A riddle associated with the great composer's death will always excite mankind, causing many interpretations. The opera "Mozart and Salieri" is a rare work in the repertoire of opera houses, but it makes the performance more interesting.
