On September 26, at 6:30 pm, the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater will present a concert program in memory of the outstanding trumpeter of the 20th century Timofey Dokschitzer. The prominent representatives of the Russian school of brass instruments, the soloists of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, the Mariinsky Theater and the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater, the laureates of international contests - Evgeny Guriev, Nikita Istomin and Stanislav Sevastyanov will take part in the dedication evening.
In the first part of the concert program the audience will hear works by George Gershwin, Jean Baptiste Arban and Alexander Arutiunian with the participation of the symphonic orchestra under the baton of the chief conductor Valery Voronin. The second part of the concert will feature “Symphony No. 4”, one of the most perfect and unique works by the great symphonist of the 19th century Johannes Brahms.
Dokschitzer is considered an extravagant and creative musician who managed to elevate the art of playing the trumpet to the highest standard. The talented artist devoted more than 60 years to the stage. Timofey Dokschitzer was a distinguished musician: he was awarded the title of a lifetime board member of the International Trumpet Guild (ITG); one of the largest manufacturers of musical instruments, “Vincent Bach”, has long produced mouthpieces of the TD series (Timofey Dokschitzer), and today many educational institutions, festivals and competitions are named after Dokschitzer. On December 13, 2021 it will be 100 years since the birth of the outstanding musician.
