Cultural weekend at the Opera and Ballet Theatre

On February 18 and 19, the world premiere, the ballet "Andrei Rublev" is performed at the Big Hall of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theatre!  An exceptional feature of the premiere is the fact that the ballet "Andrei Rublev" has been written specially for the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Early Russia of the XV century. The country is torn apart by internal fights between princes. Tatar raids, famine and death follow the people ... In this tragic era, a great painter appears in Russia.

The life and work of Andrei Rublev remains a mystery even now, and information about him is scanty and sketchy. Only a few creations of a brilliant master have come down to us. The author of the idea and the libretto of the ballet is Choreographer and Stage Director Konstantin Uralsky. The first in the world he has decided to show in the language of dance the way of the artist, wading through the conventions of being to the heavenly heights of creation.

February, 19, on Sunday the Small hall waits for the spectators. Soloists of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theatre will present the concert program "In the rhythm of waltz." Surprisingly, once Pavel I forbade this dance only because he fell down unexpectedly during a waltz.

However, the waltz is the only dance that has gone through the entire nineteenth century and is still developing as a ballroom dance. The whole world is swept off its feet by waltz. And it sounds everywhere: in operas and operettas, symphonies, instrumental works, ballets and songs.

This evening long known favorite tunes "Moonlight Waltz", "Love and Separation", "Blue Scarf", "Waltz of Waltz" and many others will sound for you.
The soloists: Elena Razgulyaeva, Irina Belaya, Zinaida Dyuzhova, Irina Bokareva, Andrey Puzhalin and Alexei Mikhailov will sing the songs.
