The successful "Touchstone" from the "Divine Maestro"

"The Divine Maestro", "The Sun of Italy", "The Genius Creator" ... And how will you name Gioachino Rossini after the concert?

Rossini's success seemed to have been predetermined. He was born in the family of a poor orchestral musician and a provincial opera singer. The future composer had been familiar with the way of life and customs, dominated the Italian opera houses, since childhood. A fervent temperament, a mocking mind, a sharp tongue coexisted in the nature of little Gioachino with fine musicality, fine ear and extraordinary memory. As a  little boy Gioachino performed in the opera, performing the part of little Adolfo in Ferdinando Paer's opera “Camille”. The first appearance was very successful.

Many contemporaries prophesied to young Gioachino a brilliant singing career. The boy had all the data for this. However, the desire to compose music prevailed. Luck came unexpectedly. Since the previous artistic times, Gioachino's parents had maintained warm and friendly relationships with the musical family of Morandi. Thanks to the support of Morandi, the young composer received an order for an opera from the Venetian theatre "San Moise". Two years passed, and the young maestro wrote an opera for the famous "La Scala" with the symbolic name "La Pietra del Paragone" (“The Touchstone”). The success was great. After the premiere, which took place on September 26, 1812, the opera withstood more than 50 performances and was accepted by listeners invariably with warm approval.

The success of “La Pietra del Paragone”, which made the name of Rossini famous, put the young composer on a par with the most famous musicians. At the age of 20 Gioachino was already the author of six operas, each of them was the next step up the way of improving composer skills. Then it would be impossible to stop. A masterpiece after a masterpiece. The theatrical concert "Delighting Rossini" will make you sure of it. The following concert numbers will lead the spectators through the musical labyrinth, built from the solo, ensemble and orchestral masterpieces of the Italian composer.

Fragments from the operas "The Barber of Seville", "Cinderella", "Othello", "Adina", "Semiramide", "The Marriage Contract" and others will sound in the bright, rich program.        At the end of the program all the participants of the concert will perform Neapolitan tarantella,  full  of sparkling movement . Concert numbers are united by the atmosphere of the holiday and musical harmony. The leading soloists of the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theatre: Elena Razgulyayeva, Irina Belaya, Alexander Malyshko, Alexey Frolov, Ruslan Sigbatulin, Victoria Kangina, Irina Bokareva, Zinaida Dyuzhova and many others will take part in the concert program. Natalia Kirillova (soprano), guest soloist of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre, will take part in the concer. The laureate of the International Musica Classica Competition "Viennese Spring" Grand Prix has a tender soprano. Come to the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theatre and open new facets of art.
