From the 24th to the 30th of April the 20th Open Russian competition contest of musical colleges students performing skills by the specialties "Orchestral Wind Instruments" and "Academic Solo Singing" takes place in Astrakhan.
Its organizers are: the Russian Federation Ministry of Culture, the Regional Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Astrakhan Musical College named after M.P. Mussorgsky with the participation of the Astrakhan State Conservatory.
The competition is held on the basis of the Musical College and the Conservatory. It will be attended by about 50 young performers from six regions of Russia: Volgograd, Moscow, Novorossiysk, Maikop and others.
The jury consists of well-known performers, members of the leading specialized educational institutions teaching staff and theatre soloists. Among them: Vladimir Kudrya - Professor of the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music, Sergei Krylov - Professor of the Rostov Conservatory named after S.V. Rachmaninoff, laureate of international competitions, Petr Migunov - soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Valery Voronin - artistic director of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theatre, Elena Mikhailova - teacher of the Astrakhan Musical College named after M.P. Mussorgsky, People's Artist of Tatarstan, Professor and others.
