The International Exhibition and Forum “Russia” has been running in Moscow at VDNKh for exactly three months. A transforming multimedia lotus became a striking detail of the exposition of the Astrakhan region at the exhibition-forum. Each of its five petal screens symbolizes a theme representing the unique capabilities of the region. One of them is dedicated to culture and art.
The artists of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater had the honor to present the cultural traditions of the Caspian capital at the exhibition at the end of January. Within the framework of the branch-wise Day of Russian Culture, a string quartet consisting of N. Kerimov, T. Guzenko, A. Zemlyanichenko, E. Chudinov performed for the numerous residents of Moscow and the guests of the exhibition-forum. The musicians played famous and popular compositions from the works by Mozart, Handel, Tchaikovsky, and Verdi. Melodies from modern musicals and favorite films were performed as well.
The soloist of the theater Ksenia Grigorieva performed the aria “Habanera” from the opera Carmen, and Anna Kadenkova performed Giuditta's aria from the operetta of the same name.
The performance of the ballet dancers Sofia Romanova and Daniil Sokolov were spectacular and impressive. The duet danced a fragment from K. Gluck's ballet Melody and “The Seventh Waltz” from F. Chopin's ballet Chopiniana.
Lots of guests of the exhibition took the opportunity to take part in the master class on making origami, which was given by the head of the theater’s prop shop, Nadezhda Mitrokhina.
